Arsenal Pubs Near Finsbury Park
Finsbury Park is the fallback, and it is a very good fallback. Piccadilly line, Victoria line and National Rail all land here, the walk to the Emirates takes ten to fifteen minutes, and there are Arsenal pubs along the entire route. If the famous N5 rooms are full or gone home-fans-only, this is where you go.
The four
- The Twelve Pins, 263 Seven Sisters Road. The first pub you hit coming off the tube. Big Irish pub, six screens mounted high enough that you can actually see them over the heads in front.
- Worlds End, 21–23 Stroud Green Road. Two minutes from the station and bigger than most Arsenal pubs, which is the whole point — you have got a chance of getting in. Claims the biggest screen in North London.
- The Plimsoll, 52 St Thomas Road. Was The Auld Triangle, a proper pre-match Irish boozer. Now a gastropub ranked in the UK top 50, and the Arsenal crowd never left.
- The Faltering Fullback, 19 Perth Road. Twenty-five minutes from the ground and worth every step for the three-level treehouse beer garden out the back. Yes, really.
Why this is the no-ticket answer
On a home match day the pubs closest to the ground tighten up — several Blackstock Road rooms go home fans only and want to see a ticket. Nobody at Finsbury Park is doing that. You will get in, you will get a seat if you turn up an hour before, and you will still get the roar when it goes in.
It also works the other way round. Arriving early with time to kill? Start here, then walk up Holloway Road or Blackstock Road towards the Emirates and drink your way there.
