Arsenal Pubs on Holloway Road
Holloway Road is a mile and a half of A-road, and Arsenal pubs are scattered down the whole of it. That sounds worse than it is. It means that when the famous rooms in N5 are rammed, there is always another one two hundred metres up the pavement with space in it.
South end: The Lamb and The Horatia
The Lamb at 54 is the renovated one — craft beer, live Irish and bluegrass on non-match nights, match audio on when it matters. The Horatia at 98–102 was The Lord Nelson and is now a proper all-rounder: craft beer, rotating food pop-ups, and it fills fast. This is the Highbury & Islington end, so it is where you land coming in on the Overground or the Victoria line.
Middle: the two closest to the ground
Victoria Tavern N7 at 207 is close enough to the Emirates to hear the crowd inside it. Shoulder to shoulder with half of North London on a match day, and worth it for that. The George on Eden Grove calls itself the House of Red and means it: founded in 1886, the same year as the club, boarded up for years, reopened in 2025 and already rammed.
North end: The Hercules and The Flóirín
The Hercules at 504 is the traditional Holloway local — strong Arsenal following, live music nights, close enough to catch the matchday buzz and far enough to get served. The Flóirín at 563, up in Archway, is one room, one big screen and everyone pointed the same way. Irish pub, Arsenal to the core, because the London Irish were Arsenal long before it was a marketing exercise.
How to work the road
Rule of thumb: the closer to the Emirates, the earlier you need to be. Start at the north end and walk south if you want a seat; start at the south end and walk north if you want the noise. Holloway Road station puts you in the middle of the run, and it is roughly ten minutes on foot from there to Blackstock Road if the road is not doing it for you.
